Trinity Sunday is a Christian feast celebrated on the Sunday immediately following Pentecost. It is dedicated to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, the belief that God exists as one God in three distinct Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In reality, the feast celebrates a belief that developed from the teachings of Scripture and was formally articulated through centuries of theological reflection and the early ecumenical councils. Rather than marking a historical event, Trinity Sunday invites Christians to reflect on one of the foundational doctrines of their faith.
